As a passion for participating in Civil War re-enactments and being quite an avid historian on the Civil War, the colors chosen for this painting of the owner help remind us of a time gone by. Set in his southern wine emporium, “Cindirene’s”, the subject wears his Civil War Uniform while pouring into a cup from period pottery of the war era. The anachronism of this, while behind modern day imported beers in bottles the painting causes the observer to wonder “When WAS this?”. His love of history for the south he was born and raised in with his knowledge of fine beers and wines distinguish this portrait as a unique place, albeit, in time.
